Tattoo Removal FAQs

Here you will find the answers to the most common Laser Tattoo Removal FAQs

Does Laser Tattoo Removal Hurt?

Just like the procedure of having a tattoo, the answer to this question does infact depend on the client as an individual, as well as the area in which the tattoo is being removed from. Pain thresholds differ between clients, but the description we offer to clients when they ask if Laser Tattoo Removal hurts, is that it can feel like the fat from a frying egg spitting and landing in your skin. Let’s not forget, you were brave enough to go through the procedure of having the tattoo initially and the removal process is not any more painful. Most customers state it feels like an elastic band being flicked onto their skin.

We have also invested heavily in a Skin Air Cooling System where the skin can be directly cooled during each procedure. This is what sets us apart from our competition, the variable portable Cooling System makes Laser Tattoo Removals at Skin Clear Laser Tattoo Removal Leicester, MUCH more comfortable for our clients!

One of the most common Tattoo Removal FAQs asked. Clients must understand that Laser Tattoo Removal is a much slower process, with fairly small treatment windows with a skin resting time of around 8 weeks between each treatment.

How Does Your Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

We use a dedicated Q-Switch Laser that sends a Monochrome pulse of laser energy directly into the Tattoo Ink. This Photomechanical reaction zaps and smashes the larger ink pigments into smaller pigments.

The Phagocytes within your White Blood cells help carry the smaller pigment away as your immune and lymphatic system are then able to eradicate the ink particles over time. This process continues for months following each treatment.

How Long Does Laser Tattoo Removal Take?

Each Individual Laser Tattoo Removal Session can take between 30-60 minutes, depending on size of area being treated.

The entire process duration for removing a tattoo is spread over months of treatments. Slow and gentle is the best approach when it comes to Laser, Human and Tattoo Ink!

There is an approximate 8 Week Interval between each laser removal session. This cannot be shortened due to the natural healing process of the skin area.

Will My Tattoo Be Completely Removed?

Although we cannot guarantee results as each individual is different, we state that approximately 12-16 sessions will be required (with 8 week gaps between sessions to allow for the body’s natural heeling)
The Laser is assisting your body by breaking down the Tattoo in small bite size sections and intervals, to enable your body and it’s immune system to pass the smaller ink pigments as waste. Please take a look at the Tattoo Removal Photo Gallery here.
